Unearth the Talent You Forgot You Had

by | Oct 25, 2025

You’re sixty, fifty-seven, maybe forty-eight and hit with a layoff or just want to jump off the rollercoaster. What life throws at us is often out of our control, but what we do with that windfall or curveball is all up to us.

The how we got here can be a collection of villainous bosses, soulless corporations, a personal reboot, a stroke of bad or good luck or an unexpected financial windfall from an investment or generous relative. But how we got here is in the past. It’s done and we can’t change it. In movies and books, this is where the Hero is stricken down and has to begin anew.

The rise to the challenge is the part of the story that ultimately speaks to each of us. Hearing about a comeback, a rise from the rubble, the battle of good over evil and the Phoenix emerging from the flames are what mankind craves, which is why our stories can and do fill books.

But what we’re going to do next is where the adventure truly begins.

We can lament what happened or what could have been, or seize the opportunity to captain the next chapter of our lives. Think back to when we were in our twenties. The possibilities were endless and we believed we were immortal and that even if we failed, we had plenty of years left to turn it around. Was any of that actually true? Did we really have endless possibilities and immortality? Probably not, but the important thing was we believed we did.

Whether our comeback consists of playing with grandchildren, golfing, traveling or starting a new business venture, it’s unique to us. Climbing Mount Everest is the ultimate goal for some, staying home while watching the birds flutter around the garden could be another’s vision of joy.

We need to share our stories and the Comeback Cast blog and YouTube are where we can talk about this magical stage of life. Take up painting? Become an AI expert? Lose weight and become more fit? What about those talents you had years ago? Playing the piano, singing, The three of us, Brian, Bill and Burke, have our own adventures, challenges and victories we will share, and we want all of you to share yours in a safe and empowering environment. We are three guys who said “NO” to being done, so each of us pursued a path that got us here.

Email us at: Info@comebackcast.com if you’d like to share your journeys.

Now is the time to pursue those dreams as most of us likely have more years behind us than ahead, barring an unforeseen anti-aging medicine. Don’t wait. Do it now.
